Cheato okay in the fridge?

I believe I'm going to take down my HOB fuge and take out the sand and mineral mud and just run it with some rubble and Cheato. I have good cheato so I'm going to put it in a large zip lock bag, should I put it in the fridge until my fuge is clean and ready? Thanks.

I would just leave it in a bucket with saltwater if it's a day or so, wrapped in a paper towel that's been soaked and placed in a ziplock bag it's going to be a few days.
