Cheato Reactor Questions

Hey guys, thinking about doing a DIY cheato reactor for my 45 gallon JBJ tank. My tank has dual return pumps (I think 300 gph each?), and I was wondering if it would be possible to have one of them pump water into the cheato reactor and then have the outlet for it connect to my return nozzle in the display tank. I don't know if this would work but I was thinking it could potentially save me from having to buy another pump. Also, what is the ideal flow rate through a cheato reactor?

Doable...but I think your reactor will have to be small for that size pump to work right...
