My nitrates stay between 5-10ppm, but I feed a lot. I pull out a gallon or so of chaeto per week. My tank is still young (3 months), so maybe it'll get to zero eventually. Everything is happy and growing, so I'm not reacting to it as a "problem", yet.

I would shoot for 3-5 coral need nitrates for food.

What type of light are you using, do you have s power head in the fuge?

Kind of exactly why I haven't reacted much. I know my tank is still young and I know that my xenia and some other corals appreciate the nutrients.

I have two 36w TaoTronics LED Grow Light Bulbs, one is in a chamber with some live rock and different types of algae (some chaeto also), the other is in a 15 gallon chamber with chaeto only and that one has a power head that causes it two tumble. To be honest though, I'd have a hard time determining which grows chaeto better. I know they say it's supposed to tumble, but both chambers grow good chaeto, it's just more fun watching the one where it tumbles.
