Cheato trimming

Ok I started growing cheato in my Sump area. It has grown from about a softball size to now almost a basketball size. So I am getting ready to trim it. I am using for export.
So my question is when it’s about basketball size do you just pull it out and cut some off the edges or how do people trim it back of export purposes.
I don’t want to grow it just to mess up. Lol

Just rip a chunk out. If some of it looks more pale, toss out that chunk.

I just rip a chunk off. You can also post ads on like Craigslist, OfferUp, fb etc to sell/give away to local reefers instead of just tossing it.

You'll get much more nutrient export if you wait for it to grow as much as possible before harvesting. I'd wait for it to fill the sump.

Edit: sorry, you said basketball size. I thought you said baseball size!
