Check out my Latz!

Yeah, if they are healthy grab them up. The other thing about these fish is that they are seasonal. Think about what the weather is like in the southern Australian ocean during the winter (our summer).

If you check most threads on RC, every time someone posts with the word Latz or Latezonatus in it i make a post asking for info on where i can get a pair. So FINALLY, I thank you for starting this thread here. Two juvi's on there way to me!

BTW, about a year ago i found a large female (no pair) and bought it only to have it die from Brook 5 months later. With these fish QT is a must (learned a little to late), the disease can/will lay dormant and you'll think your out of the woods and then BAM, you lose your beautiful fish. I'll be pulling out all the stops this time. They are soon to have a nice 225 to call home.

Pics of my old female, before i new how to take a decent picture. This was in my old 60 cube, first tank. WOW, this just shows how much someone can learn from message boards like R2R and RC. This was a very unattractive tank.

nice fish Matt. Is that a BTA she is hosting? Sorry about the brook, did you keep the tank cool?

Ugh, so embarrassed to post those pics. But i guess everyone has to start somewhere. Yeah, that tank originally had 5 BTA's and 2 carpets. Once i started keeping coral i got the red carpet and got rid of the rest. She took to every anemone that she ever saw, no matter the species.

I'm not going to lie, i was to "new" to try an experienced fish at the time. I did keep the tank at 76, but thats what i always keep my reef at.

The two you're getting are sweet looking, they're probably the size of a quarter/half dollar. I took a pic with my phone, but it's awful.

It just dawned on me that we completely hijacked the original posters thread. My apologies to Hyperboy.

wOOt! My pair from Einstein Aquatics is on the plane and will be here in a few hours! Can't wait!!!! Thanks again for posting this thread!!! :D

Figured i would add pics. Mine are TINY, for referance the PVC is 2". Neither are much over 1". So cool. They are in QT for the next month or so. The smaller one was harder to get a pic of. They need some TLC to fix some fin damage but other than that i'm very pleased.

Just an update, the latz are doing great!!! Just picked up a huge magnifica for them last week and they have adapted well to it. So well they have both started cleaning, and doing practice passes very aggressively!

Just wondering if you had any updates on your latz. Thanks!
