I haven't had a star in a while so I picked up two of these guys from Wet Pets Hawaii. Such an awesome Linkia. I've never seen these in stores here in VA. Anyone have any experience with them?

I got one a while back from Divers Den, but he didn't last very long. He never really moved much after I put him in the tank, so I have a feeling he was either sick or didn't care for the shipment here.

Great looking star though, good luck with him.

The two I have are very active. I haven't seen them in the same spot and I've had them in the tank almost a week. They are also very good a squeezing into some tiny spots in the rock work. You would think their arms would break off with the angles they are flexing.

I think the blues look much better but I have already read that they don't last long at all. 4-5 months in captivity and that they are extremely sensitive to PH swings. With a new Kalk reactor that might not be the best environment

Ive heard and read that linkias will thrive if they make it thru the first month or 2 in a new tank "settling in" but if they dont do to hot during that time period they might die

Great looking star for sure! I recently tried one and as others have stated it didn't last long, I may try another some day.

The sand sifters are the easiest to take care of IMO. I had the same one for a few years. Even though its not colorful like the other guys, I'd rather have something live and prosper in my tank. I really hope this guy lasts for you.

Funny story, I asked my fish guy to get me a blue linkia for my tank. When it came, it was literally close to a foot across. Entirely way too big for my tank, so I gave him back to him, haha. Not sure where it ended up.

I have a blue one, have had him for a while and he does fine. Been staying in the back glass lately. I really like the pink one though, might have to add one.

I've never seen a pink linkia before - nice! It would be interesting to know how long people have been able to keep linkias in their tank. I had a red one for 6 months and that's what I keep hearing as the typical life span.
