Check out my Sun Coral Garden!

Love spiny oysters, got any pics of those, particularly showing their mantles?!

Good eye. Thorny oysters for the win! When I saw this guy I couldn't pass it up.

I have a tiny one(size of a dime) , found inside a sponge I recently purchased.

For a week approximately, I see these flat orange dots, about 1/2 milliter round. I take out the magnifying glass. They're sun cup corals. About 15+ on back side of DT. Can't wait see them keep growing.

How do they get nutrients at such a small size?

I think Reef Nutrition products. I also increase feeding in the last 4 days too.
Do you think the tissue has a "mouth" and tentacles? Like, unless there is a polyp (however small), it will not develop into a an "adult" polyp?

The ones growing, with magnifying glass, you can see a mouth, no tentacles yet. 6 months ago had yellow sun cup polyps growing in different DT. Some dots flat looking for now.

The NPS corner has reached maximum capacity!! I wanted to share my experience with my favorite coral that I've been growing for 3+ years. I started with a single colony, pictured in the bottom left here, and propagate by collecting propagules or encrusted tissue from adult colonies. I do feed mysis everyday, but they are worth it!

If you can spy the tiniest polyps below (2-4 mm across), these are the newest babies at 2-3 months old.
After a year, they grow to an inch across, have 3 or 4 full sized polyps, and look like a frag of a parent. Vivid colors may not appear until the 2nd or 3rd year.
The growth rate of these corals is on another level compared to my photosynthetics!

Amazing, thanks for the share

One of my oldest frags below is now just as big as the parent. Roughly 3 years of encrusting growth.

This piece started from a propagule roughly 2 years ago. Notice the yellow tissue in the background without a polyp, it will develop babies within weeks!

I was fortunate enough to meet with Tennyson in Maryland and buy some of his sun corals and a trumpet. Very nice healthy pieces! He also was a wealth of information for the care of these corals and others! Thanks again Tennyson!

Hi I recently purchased a sun coral. Can you give any tip on how to best keep them. Placement flow feeding foods/schedule.
