Check Valve is Bouncing (AND IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE!!!)

I would have guessed faulty valve. I have the original type you show and it works spot on.
There is so much slime, snails, algae and free floating matter that can potentially clog up valves, lines and intakes.

I'm having the exact same issue with a brand new check valve! So frustrating because the holes for my returns are drilled low, and I have an ehsopps sump with very little volume. I'll have to get more locline and move the returns closer to the water surface. But there has to be an explanation to this!

I'm almost ready to glue a weight on the top of the flap to see if it works lol.
