Did the test again today, 1) 29x3,066:1000=0,0889, not happy, I did it again after five minutes, 2) 57x3,066:1000=0.1747, did it again, 3) 7x3,066:1000=0, 02146, now I wonder what is the exact result of the PO4 in the tank? Tried again this time with Salifert, result 0.03 to abound because the water is almost transparent to the eye. I feel like letting the Ovetto fly off the balcony

When I have seen variable results with HI736, it is usually smudges and debris on the cuvettes. I use two cuvettes, 1 for the sample and 1 as a blank (I know the instructions say to use 1, but I find that too hard to do in the time provided). Before blanking or testing the sample, I run each cuvette under cold water and polish it clean and dry using a paper towel. Then I begin the test.

While you are doing the test, if you are using 2 cuvettes, you can do instant tests after the first timed test. This helps to allow you to determine if a spurious test was caused by blemishes on the cuvette. To do an instant test, turn on the tester, insert C1 (blank) when prompted, and then insert C2 (sample) and press power button and release. Do not hold it down for the timer. If the instant tests come out similar to the timed one, then you know that it is probably correct. Spinning the cuvettes to shine through different sides for multiple instant tests also helps to rule out smudges on the glass throwing things off.

I also store my cuvettes filled with RODI to help keep the inside clean of build up.
