Checking for stray voltage

Hi to check for stray voltage would you put the black lead in ground plug of outlet and red in water with meter on a/c voltage? Thanks

There are some videos on youtube that can help answer this. I watched them not to long ago when I suspected current. Type in "how to check stray current in an aquarium with a multimeter". Serveral videos out there.
