Chemi-Clean and it's effect on zoa health

There are some posts on that subject already but none that really explains it.
What exactly does Chemi-Clean do that improves the health of zoas?
I've never really considered dosing it, but one of our wholesalers started to use it in thier zoa tank a few months ago and the difference it makes is unbelievable. Almost all of his problem with zoas dying/melting are gone. He uses it monthly.

I've read that it's a slow oxidizer and not much else. Is this true? Would countinously dosing H2O2 in small doses be the same?

Anyone else experiences with Chemi-Clean and it's effect on zoas? I know you can crash your tank if you overdose it and don't aerate the water enough.

Chemi-clean is, I think, a form of erythromycin (an antibiotic), or at least that is part of it. They try very hard to disguise what it actually is, and much of what they have claimed over the years is misleading in the extreme.

If it has an effect on zooanthids, it may be that they were infected with a bacteria that harms them. That's just a hypothesis, however.

So all it does is kill bacteria? The "oxidizing trapped organic sludge and promotes an ideal enzyme balance" part is false?
If its indeed a bacterial problem, would there be better options than Chemi-Clean?

I do not know if that is all it is. There may be other ingredients, but I think it is the antibiotic that kills cyano. It might also contain enzymes that do the claim above, but I'm skeptical that such enzymes (as also claimed in MB7) do much. But a skeptic might say the above sentence for Chemi-clean might be intended to mislead and be marginally justified by claiming that the bacteria that remain after cyano are killed will do the oxidizing or organics. The "ideal enzyme balance" part is utterly meaningless in this context, IMO.
