I've been a long time user of Chemi-Pure, I change out my carbon every 3 months. Lately I have noticed the carbon bag are easily falling apart when I pull them out of the sump. The whole bag just falls / rips apart, dumping all the resin and carbon into my sump .
Anyone else having this problem ?

May need to go back to using a carbon reactor.
Boyd Enterprise .... care to chime in ?

Don’t have this issue, but feel your pain. The reactor would be a better option. Is there a reason you prefer the bag? Just easier to use?

Ive always used a separate chamber for nothing more than to get full flow of the tank water through the material I use ie : carbon , chemipure , etc. now you gave me another reason .

No real reason why I don't use the reactor. I just throw the bag between baffle and let the water pass through it.

We have come across this on several occasions. More common the longer you leave the carbon bags in the system. Personally our maintenance department uses reusable zipper bags for most applications such as these manufactured by Weco.

I use knee high stockings for carbon. Have never had one deteriorate. I have one covering my float switch for the ato to keep snails out. It has been on there for almost 2 years and is still in tact.
