Chemiblue Cause Dinos?

I added chemipure blue to my sump about 2 weeks ago I'm noticing brown strings with bubbles on my overflow and some rockwork. Nothing on the sand.
I removed the chemipure. Is it time to panic or just wait and see if it clears?

Iv used cemipure blue in the past never had that happen so you may of lowered somthing to much with it I'd test the water if I was you and see what everything is at before removing it honestly then

It works well to pull phosphates out of the water

No protein skimmer

All natural filtration except carbon and the filter pad I change every 3 days

Flow roughly 500 gph threw the display
2 pumps

One spins crossing the stangnet one creating a nice flow overeverything without anything getting direct current using glass to break it up

Just cleaned it so alittle cloudy right now

Setup 2 years old coral 2 years to 1 years old except the new pick yellow grafted online it's about 2 weeks old now


But I feed alot so my coral get very little nutrition from the water colom I don't recommend my method to anyone it take alot of cleanning gotta remove the left over food before it breaks down

Light schedule is channel 1 mains 10 hours a day ch 2 color enhancers 8 hours a day and moons 14 hours a day

I don't have a lot of experience with this, but I had a large dino outbreak a few months ago. I'm not saying that chemi-blue caused it, but it certainly made it worse. I've tried adding it back in a few times since then (if I remember correctly, it was chemi-blue elite) and every time dinos have come back. I since have installed a UV sterilizer, specifically the 9w Green Killing machine. While it's been running, the dinos have been kept at bay. My outbreak went away nearly overnight. My theory as someone who doesn't have a ton of experience (only have a 9 month 20g cube) is that chemi-clean works too well for smaller tanks. It causes near sterile water conditions that allow whatever dinos I have (which sound very similar to yours, not on the sand bed, long brown strings) to come back in earnest.

For me, just taking the chemi-blue out helped my outbreak, but what really killed it and has kept it at bay is UV sterlization

Blues on first with hour ramp up then on for an hour this wakes up the coral as most take about 2 hours to start photosynthesis while limiting algie growth then the mains come on
Then the color enhancer comes on with a 30 min ramp up period but this one has alot of red so is not on as long and simulates mid day then the reverse happens in the evening color off for then and hour later the mains go off 2 hours after that the moons go off

With all lights on at full power I have 300 par mid tank more then enoff to grow anything

Yes they get a more natural look to them under these lights but are healthy grow fast and could not be happier

Pretty much spot on and very correct a uv light will help get rid of it

I only used half as much as what is recommended and only durring the cycle and green algie pha e then switch to carbon only

That's exactly whats happening it's working to well

I used 2 5 gallon bag in my 32 biocube for reference

But my live rock also had alot of stored phosphates i had to get rid of which is why I used it

So moral of the story here is know what your using and only use it if needed not just becouse everyone says to or does

I have no protein skimmer never have in 12 years and never been an issue

Nitrate and phosphate we're both highis 10ppm and .10 added chemipure and a small golf ball of chaeto about 2-3 weeks ago

it's mostly carbon with some beads that promote bacteria growth. It certainly doesn't directly cause dinos but it could deplete your nutrients and allow dinos to thrive.

CPB can get phos to zero and initiate early signs of Dino
Blow loose and net up the matter and see if it returns quickly or not at all

Sounds good. I blew the spots off and neted what I could get and changed my filter floss out. I also pulled the chemipure till I can retest my phos.

Update:
After blowing off the rocks and scooping what I could I did not see any new bubbles last night after work. Still a little of the stringy stuff on one rock but all the air bubbles seem to have disappeared. I did remove the chemipure per the suggestion that it might have caused my PO3 to bottom out. It was indeed undetectable. Hopefully this was as bad as it gets and they keep receding.
I had previously used the seachum phosguard with no negative effects. I might go back to that as it didnt bottom out my phosphates. It seems to have less take up than the chemipure.
