If your chemical numbers are out of line and your not sure of the best ways to correct them. Why not ask it here.
For example:
Tank size = 200 gal
Temp = 74.5
Salinity = 1.026
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 5
PH = 7.29
Ammonia = ?
Alkalinity dkH = 6.8
Calcium = 553
Phosphate = .90
Magnesium = ?
iodine = ?
strontium = ?

What adjustment corrections are needed and how would you do it ?

Temp too low- 77-79
calcium high- Should be 440-450
ph low, should be 8.1-8.3
alk low should be 8-9
phos high should be < .04

Important to know Mag and Ammonia

WHAT TEST KITS ARE YOU USING ?

If no ammonia or mag kit- take a sample to a trusted LFS that does Not use API test kits and obtain those numbers.

I'm using Hanna testers, this was the second time i used them. I have a Seufert magnesium test kit which i haven't opened the box to try yet. I think i messed up the Hanna nitrate test and i need to redo it. i had a old ammonia color chart test kit but it was out of chemical #3. Im using a refractor for the salinity and using a true-temp heater controller.

im in the process of adding Seachem Reef builder (raises Carbonate Alkalinity) mixed 3 teaspoons in to 2 gal or rodi water and currently dripping in to the sump.
