So a friend of mine broke down his tank and gave me every kind of chemicals, meds and test kits, but a lot of them are expired. Do these things really expire or can they still be used?

Depends what it is, but as far as test kits... is it really worth gambling on an expired kit considering how much $ you have invested already?

Inorganic supplements such as calcium and alkalinity additives don't go bad. Kits and organic chemicals (vitamins, etc). can go bad.

oh okay. ya i was given a lot of calcium and alkalinity stuff..and also some Kent stuff which i have never used in my tank.
