chemiclean 2nd dose

I'd wait a week or so and give it some time. When I used it the cyano kept dying off for about a week after the 20% and it kept getting taken out via the skimmer.

I had a slight "teng" of purple cino it looked like on my sand starting. So I used chemiclean on my tank a few day ago to get ahead of it. Well, it worked alright, very well actually. No signs of any Cino. But, my skimmer has gone NUTZ... I did two 20% water changes and added about 3x the carbon I would normally use. It is day 4 of trying to remove it from the system. Anyone know how long it takes to remove it from the water? This is a SPS dominant tank and I would like to get the skimmer going again. Letting it just run isn't an option as the amount of micro bubbles making it through my bubble trap is filling the DT full and worried it will irritate the fish and coral.

It took a few days for mine to calm down. Carbon will help too. Does your skimmer have drain on the cup? If so, let it drain into a bucket. It’s going to skim really wet, but it’ll get the chemiclean out of your tank much faster.

Unfortunately there is no drain on the super slim Reef Octopus. I just turned it off... It'll be fine for a few days. I maintain a nitrate level for the SPS so doing the water changes probably knocked that down some so it wont hurt to let it naturally build back to 10. I guess I'll just keep going with the carbon and water change every couple days until its settled out. Thank you for the reply!

you can start second dose when you add carbon and remove all antibiotic treatment from water and this will be proven from skimmer when back to normal not crazy. Also note that even if cyano vanished , you might face another harder bacteria which is Dino and this bacteria might come after chemi clean treatment.
