Well guys that 48hr rule is dead on. I had traces of Cyano at 48 hrs on the dot. Did my water change. 40% as it’s a Nano. Next morning their wasn’t a trace of the stuff.

So if you guys use that stuff I’m reporting back. 48 hrs if you still see it don’t be shocked. You could probably wait another 12-24 but I wouldn’t. Did my water change what was dieing was gone in the morning.

I added Chaeto to the refugium today as well. Got aa nice grow light that works perfectly.

My question is I have a skimmer and the Evo Skimmer is crap but if you get it working. It definitely works so far I have good results. But I’m considering an Intank basket like I did Biocubes and doting the skimmer. With Chaeto I have a strong feeling I could zero out my nitrates. That or do a wet skim only every so often.

Opinions?

Chemiclean is awesome!

I am a big fan of skimmers since they add o2 and are one of the few filtration methods that actually physically remove nutrients. That being said, if you are worried about zeroing out nutrients there's nothing wrong with a media basket instead. What did you want to put in there? Personally I like to just jam it full of live rock (old school I know)
