Added 3 and a half scoops to water volume of 38.2 gallons following all directions except for using an air stone and my skimmer is going nuts is this alright?

yes your skimmer will go nuts with that product it is normal

Hm not sure but I read that alot of the times when people add something into their tank their skimmer goes crazy
