I just dosed up with Chemiclean to help with a cyano problem in my refugium (no cyano in the DT)...Had water tested at LFS and all numbers came out great...cyano in refugium is bad and has choked out my algae. My question is should I cut off or reduce the refugium light during this time period (currently on 24hrs/day)...also should I increase flow through the refugium during this treatment?...or should I just keep everything as is and just continue with treatment?...thanks for all your help.

First off there is no benefit to leaving your fuge light on for 24/7 Most will run them 8-10hr a day opposite those of the DT. I've personally been doing so for 4yrs. My chaeto grows well and my DT is algae free.
Another cause for cyano in the fuge is a build up of detritus. Things like LR & Chaeto are great for catching this stuff and need to be rinsed on a regular bases. When doing a wc it is a good idea to stir things up a little in the fuge and siphon.

...thanks for reply...if I don't leave the light on 24/7, won't some of the algae go asexual and release toxins back into the tank ??

Day 2 of Chemiclean treatment and the cyano looks unphased :squigglemouth:

Do I need to do water changes in between treatments...or just keep dosing ???

First change ur lighting. Only run it for 8-10 hours a day not 24/7
Next Put a powerhead in there. Cyano builds bc of low flow and high nutrients.
With high flow the algae will have a chance to eat it and not become cyano.

...okay I will try that...everyone has always told me to go with low flow in refugium...but I will increase it.

UPDATE: the Chemiclean worked like a charm...on the 3rd day, it was gone !!!...good product :-)
