I am tired of siphoning cyano.

Will Chemiclean hurt my Mag. Nem, Acan, Duncan, Milli, Digi, Slimeball, Octo, Inverts, Shrimp, Kole Tang, Coral Beauty, Cardinals or Clowns?

I have read it could kill more than just the cyano. Kind of like how antibiotics kill the good bacteria in your gut.

I have done chemiclean 3 times in my current tank, I have a maxima clam(it was tiny less than 2”on the 1st round), shrooms, Zoas, hammers, torches, lobos, had acans candy cane, right now mostly sps leaning on acropora, I read some of those stories too but it is absolutely important you follow its directions, This was my take on it.

I have a 75g DT, 30g Sump about 110-120lb of LR about 100lb of live sand and I dosed for 70g to be on the safe side took off the cup to my skimmer yo let it pour back into the tank since I don’t have an air stone to oxygenate the water better since it this will drop it, once done 30g water change added carbon did the same the following week replacing the carbon

Under dosing Won’t kill it over night but I rather it take 3-5 days to die than kill all my creatures

Hope this helps

Those stories in believe them over dosed and with any medice ODs can happen lol, some people forget that if you have a 100g tank and add 100lb of rocks you don’t have 100g in that tank

Crappy pic but, I treat my tank every few months with Chemi Clean. I have never had a problem. Just make sure you know your net volume of water so you dose the correct amount and follow directions exactly. After 20% water change after three days prepare for your skimmer to freak out. I mix up an extra 5 gallons and let the skimmer run and keep emptying the cup and replacing water with the extra 5 gallons. Usually it settles down after that.

My tanks is 55 with 80lb rock and a 27.5 sump. Any idea what net volume might be?

That’s Is lovely!!! I have a frag branching out already, how old is that colony

14-15 months old. It is one of my fastest growing corals. It is sitting at 375 PAR directly under MH Radium bulb. MH are on for 4 hours and 4 ATI Blue Plus for 12 hours. I run 2 reef brite XHO strips with the T5's. I tried running the Reef Brite with the MH and it brought the PAR up to mid 500's at the WD and washed out the corals.

Just opened a bottle of liquid chemiclean to do a cyan treatment and found it full of ‘crud’. Normal?
