I am battling a small outbreak of red/green slime. Added Chemiclean and after one day the green is mostly gone but the red has turn from the typical dark red to a pinkish red color. Is this just part of the normal process. It only been a day.

It may go away with time but there are some strains that are more resistant than others. I have found that some Cyano requires a second dose. I always recommend adding some form of bacteria after Chemiclean. Once you remove the Cyano there is an open niche in the ecosystem. If even a little Cyano survives it can grow back easily. If you add a bacterial competitor like Microbacter 7 you can encourage the system to fill the open niche with more desirable bacteria.
