Chemipure or Carbon with filter feeders

Just curious about the effects that running carbon would have on an Innovative Marine 10 gallon with a large number of gorgonians and feather dusters. On one hand, I feel like it could help with the nutrient load, but on the other hand, I feel like it could mess with organics that can benefit the filter feeders. What are all of your thoughts on this?

I think that the greater concern would be the skimmer. I have a healthy filter feeder population with carbon.

I never run skimmers on my tanks. No point with lots of filter feeders and macroalgae

Then I am confused by the chemical interventions. Skimmers would work better in this regard.

I would also like to know more about this. I have an IM 10g with filter feeders (2x porcelains, live rock worms/fans), DT macro and soon a crocea and gorgonian. I run carbon and purigen with no skimmer. What is best for these inhabitants?

I see we have something in common

I run carbon in a reactor, socks, and macroalgae. I keep a falme scallop, large feather dusters, tons of hitchhiker sponges, and some other mollusk clam thing (plus corals). Everything seems happy.

I think that with daily feedings, it should be fine.

Sounds exactly like what I’m doing with my tank.

It works well. I prefer a tank with a water column more representative of what is found in wild reefs. I do not do water changes outside of cleaning my sump and the sand every few months insome low flow areas.
