I am running chemipure elite which contains gfo, but how much in it? We all know that gfo can strip your sps and usually people run it half or less amount. The reason why I am asking is that some of my sps are receeding from the bottom.

I put about 100g worth of chemipure in my 120 to fight or maintain my phosphate. Last check a week ago was at around .20.

thanks

It's fairly minimal, I use a full bag of chemipure elite in my 29 I change out every 3 months, PO4 does dip the first 2 weeks but I just feed heavier to balance that out. I keep my po4 just under 0.1ppm. I can't imagine it stripping all po4 from a 120 unless you are running consistently under 0.03ppm.

Have you tested it since you put it in?

Elite has a small amount of GFO and should not strip your phosphates unless you are severely over doing the recommended dose. What size tank do you have and what size Elite did you use because you mentioned 100 grams used? Did you open the bag or are you portioning it out? Chemi-pure is not suppose to be opened and portioned since you will not have the proper ratio of gfo, ion resins, and carbon in order for the product to perform properly.
