Hey guys. So I finally received 1 out of my 2 new testing kits. I previously (and mistakingly) used API before this.
After noticing a scant amount of cyano in my sand bed and after reading more and more I finally invested in better testing kits, but just need a little direction...
As of today...
Ph 8.2
Nitrates --- between 10 and 25 (hard to tell) saliferrt
DKH -- 8.3 Salifert
Salinity 1.025
Temp 77
Posted are pictures of the red tinge in the sand bed. I have a eheim cannister filter running...with a 1050 Koralia pump.
LED -- is Fluval Marine Sea. I have been mistakingly been running the lights for 12 hours.(25% white for 5 hours, and blue 80%/purple 40% for 12 hours).
Im planning on sifting through my sand a little and using a turkey baster to move some detritus, while doing a water change.
To make matters worse (don't judge im learning) ive onky been doing 10% water changes every 2 weeks (cuz im a dingbat).
Have a 65G 2 clowns, a gamma, a goby, 1 acan, 3 zoa frags and a toadstool.
Any suggestions moving forward?
Thanks
