chemistry inbalance?

The last two times I tested my water, the magnesium has been reading well over 1500ppm. I test it with a salifert kit, I've always found it accurate, so I trust these results. I use Seachem carbonate and calcium, when I added the carbonate, it looks like someone shook a snow globe. is there a chemistry inbalance?

It is normal to see a temporary precipitate of magnesium hydroxide when adding any high pH additive. It should redissolve and you can minimize the effect by adding slowly to a high flow area, and diluting it before addition.

So I do not think you have an imbalance.
