hahaha...might have to check with Todd at cc. Well you are getting the acans Friday, so you will have to let us know if any tye dye or dark matter in there. But if not I thought maybe we can add it in for a little more $.

I'm tapped out on $$ for the minute but we'll be growing these out for a bit so we can always add some stuff if the group decides later as well!!

You can make one out of some acrylic sheet if you have any.
I see you are in on other group buy as well. So when are you gonna share some of those beauty LOL. Been wanting that RDPE ;)

I'm in this one the rdpe grow out and then soon to be the first sexy sps grow out I'm going to be the grower of both the acans and sps can't wait hit me up on the rdpe when I get it lol as for building something right now wish I had the time I have scrap acrylic around maybe I will find the motivation for it this weekend
 
Ok guys here are the bulbs we have to play with for this grow out I'm hoping to find a combo to pull the most color out of these cherries as possible I have a 36" 6bulb fixture from mr cherry himself to use for this grow out here are the bulbs
Giesman bulbs
Aqua pink (2 of these)
Actinic +
Ati bulbs
Aquablue special
True actinic 03 (2 of these)
Purple plus
Blue plus
Uvl super actinic (2 of these)

aquascience white
So what combo should we do??

Oh beerman I'm not prejudice lol I set up a complete tank for the acans man so the fishies wouldn't steal their food I even bought special lighting for them lol even new bulbs a whole bunch of bulbs to get the best colors out of them then only thing the sps are getting is the main tank lol I also had cherry include a big container of fauna marine food just for these guys lol they'll even be getting tucked into bed at night he// I might even sing them a lullaby ok probably not but you get the drift speaking of which guys still looking for color combo suggestions on my bulbs here's the list again!!

Thanks Reef Up! I was half...mostly joking...but this makes me feel better. I hope it didn't come off like I was questioning your reefing abilities because that surely wasn't my attention. I just don't want those sticks messing with my acans! Lol. I've seen SPS growouts and a lot, maybe even the majority, end up with issues/problems (i.e. Del Fuego on a growout, I don't know). I'm sure if anyone can pull it off, you are right up there. Good luck in both. I'm in four growouts in this board alone so I know it's a lot of fun. I do appreciate you being the grower. I for one am actually of the belief that the grower should be in for free so I thank you big time.

I was just having some reefer fun as well haha and you're welcome and the acans will be in a separate tank no worries there haha
 
I know that we all want the fastest growth possible but PLEASE DON'T feed the Fauna food every day. It is extremely rich and uneaten food will quickly foul the water. It is also not a bad idea to feed 1 pellet per polyp when possible.

If there are no fishies to eat up the leftovers then try and siphon out the leftovers.
 
As to your bulb choices, I would do 4 ATI blue plus, 1 ATI aquablue special, and a purple plus. We don't want to make the rainbows into A grades by giving them to much light. 100par or less for best color.

Thanks for the advice first time using this food
As for fouling the water that's actually a good thing for my tank every now and then as I run an ULNS
As for my feeding schedule I like to rotate out the foods my corals get so I'm thinking feed fauna on Monday then Tuesday mysis, Wednesday rods coral food, Thursday fauna, Friday cyclopeeze, saturday fauna, and Sunday no feed we'll see in know my other lps like this rotation minus the fauna so once again a great big thank you for this great pack I don't imagine I'll be getting to much sleep tonight lol 

That's why I got mostly actinic lower par bulbs and the list of bulbs I have are the ones I have to play with for now so I'll be borrowing my friends meter to test each combo I do once I get them in and going I'm also going to be building a simple rock structure with a cave and overhangs and shelves so I can hopefully find all their sweet spots this tank is going to be long term lps zoa tank so I'm bound to get it right!! Lol

For what its worth I run the same bulb combo n our cherry corals acid drop Acans color is amazing on the sandbed in 24 tall tank.

Ooooh I can't wait til tomorrow!

I definitely agree w/ not feeding the pellets too often. I feed mine 2x / week and not every head both times.
