Cherry corals growout growth and update thread

i dont really know. i have the cherry charms that i was able to save, but everything else is gone. i can send them to someone else and just bow out of this one if people would like.

I think that would be the best idea. Volunteers?

I think it's about time we come together as a group and figure out what's going on and how to move forward here... There are corals left and we all have money invested in this, although shipping will probably be more than the pieces are worth.

If this growout is dead and done, let's just determine that and close the thread.

FYI - I suggested to reefpeeper that he try to find a way to sell our 8 polyp frag that is still left and split the $ amongst the group since we're never going to see it anyways.

I do NOT think it is right to just let this blow over and him keep a beautiful frag which was the main reason we started this group buy just because shipping will cost more than a single frag is worth.

I also want to note that even after our polyps were lost due to an "infection" or whatever the grower has sold or offered to trade PLENTY of Z's & P's that could have replaced what was lost in this growout.

It's also complete BS that we NEVER saw any pictures of anything closed up and looking poorly, we simply took the OP's word for it and let it go. I'm going through a loss on my own growout right now and I've learned a ton of lessons on how to NOT handle issues from this one, so thank you for that I suppose.

What are the charms selling for? I don't want to make any moves until we clear that up for sure.

Example: if they sell for $200, then we take shipping out of that, we are left with $150(ish). Split 5 ways that is $30. After paypal fees, that'll come down to around $27. Something is definitely better than nothing, but $27 is tough. I'm open to doing SOMETHING (for sure), because right now we're out of anything.

Stuff happens, and I've been busy myself, so I'm not sure what has been going on with this thread (or other sales).

I also didn't like the fact that we never really saw any pics that were worth talking about. I suppose I've learned quite a bit from the group buys as well. Like you luv, mostly now NOT to do things.

So I'd say we all need to come up with an amicable solution. Hopefully we can get the other members on the GB to post what they would like to see happen as well.

Also, I thought we had a standing offer (at one point several pages back) to replace the RDPE? Is that out at this time? Just wondering. It was a generous offer, so I don't want to sound ungrateful if that offer is gone (which would be completely understandable), but it may help keep this GB going if it were still an option - so we can all see something in return at least.

Well, I'm not going to waste any more time or energy on this one. Major failure to communicate on the growers end here but I'm not gonna stress about it anymore.

If you ever decide to do something with the zoas that survived shoot me a PM.

What do u guys want from me. I could not control what had happened. I thought i gave a decent amount of updates before the problem with tank happened. The problem occured so sudden that i could not possibly update often on problem. The polyps died and thats the story. I have the cherry charms, so until everybody gets back to me i'm not doing anything with them. You guys never lost corals at all? Why do you keep going on about this and giving me poor feedback. You do not need to do that because i will never be a grower again. I had a bad experience with a growout, but didn't carry on forever and i spent alot more than $50.

I totally agree. And sorry, bad communication deserves bad feedback in my opinion...that's life.

OP, how are the Cherry Charms doing? I'm sure they look great in your tank and hope you're enjoying them at our expense!

We never did see any pics of our pieces "melting"...yes, I'm going to keep beating this dead horse because you handled this SO poorly. Send me or ANYONE the Cherry Charms, as long as they're not in your tank I don't care.
