light on 24/7 or no? local store told me light 24/7 on cheto tank friend told me no way???

I've heard of doing it either way...
At home, my tanks are set up so that the cheto gets light on the opposite schedule of the tank.

Both work fine. I presently use reverse lighting to light my macroalgae (mostly Caulerpa racemosa) as I'm not convinced the electricity for 24/7 is worthwhile.
