I want it get a Chicago sunburst here are my concerns, and could I please get your advice

my tank has been set up since Christmas and I’ve had a lot of success with all my coral and stuff everything seems to be doing great and I’m looking to add a Chicago sunburst to my tank I just don’t want him to sting all my stuff so I have a good size rock in my tank that I have separate from the rest of my coral on the bottom of my tank is he gonna stay there or will he somehow move even though that rock is not touching any others.

I have a small size tank (32g)
For lights I have a AI blade coral grow 12”

do you guys think I should add it in my tank or no, I really want one

Tough call, any nem is likely to go wherever it prefers, stinging along the way. You might need to be willing to move other corals after the nem settles in. Also remember nems can get fairly large.

I just hope it doesn’t over run my tank

If you have the “tentacle“ types of lps corals, like hammers, torches and so on your good to go. Bta’s avoid those stinging type of lps corals.

But, all sps including acrocs are no goes. A bta can move at anytime and smoke those guys. Had one bta in the same spot for about four years and a nice monti beside it and a big acro colony above it. It would hold the monti in place, with no more growth on that montis side. Then all the sudden the bta moved up just a tad for more light and planted in again. Before even noticing the slight move, for more light, just about all of that acro colony was gone and left me with a frag to glue down in another spot high on that scape.

That is a really high priced bta invert, so I’d make it, the highest priority in a reef.

Good Luck

I have a Chicago Sunburst. I was in a similar situation as you, had the tank running for about 6 months and had a lot of success with a ton of corals within the tank but wanted something for the clowns to host(still haven't yet..). I managed to pick a great location for it, and it has been very content. Hasn't really moved at all, but it has grown a lot in a very short amount of time(I think it's been about 2 months?). I've had to move many corals away from it. It lives within a cluster of Zoa's that are somehow tolerating it, but I've had to move other Zoa's it was near as they were very unhappy when it started touching them. I've had to basically vacate the rock of whatever corals I could. It lives next to a very large Macro Algae now.

I'm doing a tank upgrade soon and I'm anxious about it getting ticked off during the move and going on a rampage across the tank. I think Anemones are very cool but they definitely add a level of anxiety and stress to a tank knowing you will have move corals, or deal with the consequences if you cannot move the coral.

Attaching a pic of when I first got it. It's like 4 times larger now.
