Chiller?Ac?or LED?

I live in Florida and I have 2 tanks in my mancave,a 140 DT / SPS and im building a frag system and plumbing it together.my DT has an 8 bulb ati fixture 8 inches from the water and puts out a lot of heat.tank runs 78 to 82 at which time my apex shuts the lights off.i run a fan across the top of the tank when it gets hot which cools it down a bit.the room also gets warm.i am putting 2 g5 blues over the frag system as I have never run led .So my dilemma is whether to get a portable ac for the room,500.00,a chiller for the tanks 800.00 or 3 more g5s for my DT? All opinions welcome

I assume you don't have central A/C?

Shop for a used chiller, especially if it's lightly used and/or somebody getting out of the hobby. That should be way less than $800.

Next question, what will you do when a hurricane knocks out the power to your house for more than a day during the heat of summer? Given there you live, that's a real possibility.

I do have central ac set to 75 during the day,can't keep up in the room with the tanks,and generators for the inevitable

Are you able to locate the chiller outside? Otherwise it will cool the tank just fine, but add a ton of heat to your room. I'd probably replace the lights first.
