is there a system small enough for a 20g? Room mates keep the house around 77. I want the system as stable as I can keep it

a small computer fan on a controller blowing across top of your tank makes a cheap, simple and effective chiller.

a small fan blowing across can make drop 1-4 degrees depending. what are you trying to keep temp at? if house is 77 your tank will be pretty steady about couple of degrees over that about 79-80 and thats a pretty decent temp to keep.

To answer your question yes an Ice Probe Chiller is for small or nano tanks.

House is at 77, my room is prob a couple above that.

I have this setup exactly(2 fan). It’s setup with a Ranco temperature controller and have no issues keeping the temp at 77-78. Just be sure you have an ATO, the cooler you set the temp-the more evaporation you will have.

Have an ato, but need a container to hold the water

I use a 5 gallon non-BPA water jug. Granted, my tank is a bit smaller...I use roughly run thru 1/4 to 1/3 of a gallon a day. Prior to using the temp controlled I ran the fan overnight only to find it dropped the temp to a chilly 72F

So the fan would have to sit right on the rim aimed down to the water?

There are pre made units available that clamp right on aquarium rim

Keep it simple.

I don't have a chiller, but I have a controller with an 18" fan pointed at the sump. A computer fan might help if you leave it running all the time. But I can't see a fan from a computer case doing much if it is on a controller.

The pump I have is too big to fit the opening in the container I have.

Ill have to look these up. Is there a specific name for them? Like product name?
