It's getting warm again... My in house temperature got to 80 yesterday (according to thermostat). My seahorse tank was about 78 or so. This tank is slightly below grade on the lowest level of a split-level house, so it's a tad cooler than the upstairs. I'd like to get a chiller for the tank to keep it closer to 72 or so. I do have room in the stand (open back for ventilation) for one.
I'm looking for a recommendation for a JBJ rimless 45. I'm not sure what size chiller I need but am looking for something that is:
1) Very quiet.
2) Easy to set up
3) High quality (long life?)
4) Not stupidly expensive...I see that they are $300+. That's less the issue, I just want to get one worth it's cost. Don't want to pay $500 for a chiller that ends up being loud and a PITA.
Chillers are new territory for me so I'm not sure what to look for.
TIA!
