anyone have a recommendation for a chiller for a 300 gallon system?
thanks in advance........

Seems like weather in Kansas should be mild enough not to need it....is that not the case, or do you have something else going on?

Just curious....knowing might help with the recommendation too.

I added new halide lighting and the tank is running warmer. It ran warm anyway (78-80) and now it's hitting 84 with the new lights. The tank sits in a window so when it's a bright sunny day it gets even warmer. Haven't tried fans but with it getting that hot now, summer would cook it.

When my AC went out last summer it was 95 degrees in my town home before it was fixed that evening.
I have a four year old reef and my chiller is my insurance policy and it payed for itself this summer. :)
Didn't have to come home and float ice bags. Been there and done that.............

Question.....do these run on a regular outlet or would I need an electrician out?

Regular :)

One Tip...
I ordered mine as soon as they hit the US from Aquarium Specialty. Its' considered a heavy freight item. I haggled a bit and told them I could order from Teco USA too.
So they split the shipping cost with me.

I also had it delivered to my work (loading dock) so that was cheaper that residential.

Heres Teco USA's site.
