I just upgraded to a 75g from a 40 half moon on my 40 that was 27” tall I kept my light 16-18” high on the 75 I have it at 18” 100% blue and a little whites. What is your thoughts on height

Height above the water is more about covering the square footage of the bottom of the tank. It make next to no difference in the PAR levels. Using a BB fixture, 100% blue and 20% to 40% whites is probably pretty good for a 2' deep tank.

Depends on the lenses on the LEDs... wider angle lenses allow for you to get closer to water without getting hot spots. I replaced most of the 90* lenses on my Viparspectra with 120* lenses so I could lower the fixture about 6" from where it was originally.

That height is just fine.
I don’t like mine close to the water as most CBB can spot light or disco ball which may bother some corals.
These lights push tons of PAR, so close is not required.
When they are low, they can be easily splashed, these lights don’t fair well at all when fish splash.
Go as high as you want, you will be limited by the over spill anyways.
I’m 100% blue and 10% white at 14 inches, for 4 years now.

I lowered mine to 14” just trying to find what white setting I like to get the tank lit just the way I like it. Can I see pictures of your tank
