Not sure if this should go in DIY, but here goes..

I have 2 of the Chinese style box LED units I got about 4 years ago and I'm having troubles with the timers. One started losing it's settings at random times under load, and is now completely locked up. The other is working mostly correctly, although the LCD screen is getting to be dim unless you tilt it just the right way. Plus they can't keep decent time worth a d@mn.

The timers on these units are like these:

The LED units have 3 banks of diodes. So I'm guessing it's wired in a three-phase configuration. 110v

Moonlight (10 blue LEDS which are too bright to be considered moonlights, so I use them for sunrise/sunset effect)
Actinic/Blue
White

I'm guessing it's wired like either fig 3/4 in the diagram below:

They are all 1w LEDs and while it isn't the best unit, it's worked OK for me for the past 4 years. I am upgrading to a 300G tank and have purchased 3X LumenTek 180 units from Reef Radiance, Whenever they arrive...

Ideally I'd like to wire them up to separate power plugs and control the banks from the APEX, but the cable coming from the LEDS only has 4 wires and a ground. So a 3 phase controller similar to the ones that Reef Radiance/Reef Builders would probably work.

Any suggestions? I'm not an electrician or electrical engineer. So it has to be simple. No soldering.
