While leak testing my new 125 gallon tank I noticed a nickel sized chip at the bottom of the back wall between the frame and the silicone. Given it's location, it had to be there during manufacturing. Should I be concerned? I really don't want to have to tear it down. My plumbing is all hard plumbed and I have a permanent background adhered to the glass.

I wouldn't think it would be any concern. It doesn't look very deep?

It's hard to tell seeing how it's sandwiched between the frame and silicone. I'm guessing maybe half the thickness of the glass.

You could do a small patch job. I'm not any sort of professional by any means so maybe someone else can chime in but for me personally that thing wouldn't stop me from filling it. Also, if there is somewhat a chance you received it like that? Maybe, you can contact the company you purchased it from and see if they can do anything?

I talked to the guy at the LFS where I bought it and he said he wouldn't worry about it. I refilled the tank and was able to get a good picture. It's obvious from the way the silicone dips at the chip that it was there during manufacturing. Apparently they thought it was fine too.

Good to hear. Post up pictures after the cycle and get it going

No good I would return it. My LFS 120 gallon busted through the bottom and nothing was be done to tank but it just cracked and dumped all of the water
