Please take a look at the pics and tell me if you'd trust it.

This is an Aqueon 90g Reef Ready, approx 2yrs old.

The glass is 3/8" thick.

Location of the chip is on the rear panel of glass. It's on the left side, when facing the front of the tank. Tank is 24" tall. The chip is about 10 inches from the top.

Overall chip depth is shown in the pictures. Size is about ... as big as your pinky fingernail.

Thanks in advance.

Not into the silicone. It's a little dish shaped chip.

Is it on the outside corner of the tank? I cant tell by the pictures. If its on the outside corner I would totally trust it my 120 had a chip like that but much bigger when I bought it tank when on completely fine.

Yep, right in the back corner. Outside..half way up the side.

My big concern was... It's the back panel... which is the long one.

I would be more worried if the chip had a running crack instead of the dish shaped chip in the picture. I feel comfortable with the location and the mentioned repair. All it takes is a tap with a glass tank edge to chip it. That is why I manufactured acrylic tanks instead of glass. I think you will be fine.

Sorry, tank dimensions
48L x 21W x 24H

Pictures are a little confusing .... there appears to be silicone on both side of the panel. Is the chip new; or has it been there for the two years? Unfortunately there is no way to be sure that the chip will or won't be a problem. No two chips are the same, and that somebody else ran a tank with a chip really means nothing. If it were my tank, I'd not use it. 90 gallons makes a heck of a mess.
