Somehow missed that the tank I bought was chipped on the bottom corner of the overflow side. It was running when I bought it, and I have had it set up in the garage holding water for the last week. One reef shop owner said it should be fine and that he’s had some set up for years like that, but another said scrap it. Any advice would be great.

I'm really sorry to say this, but I would look for another tank. I wouldn't be able to relax with that in my house. It's be one thing if this was setup in garage permanently but if it's going on my wood floors or carpet I need to trust it enough to enjoy having the tank.

dang bro that crack gives me a heart attack looking at it

I've seen worse hold up to the test of time plus water pressure. I don't think it will be a problem.

IF this is a Marineland tank, throw this in the garbage and buy an other tank. It will save you lot of money in the long run.
