I just noticed on my 90 (yet to be filled) has a small chunk of glass missing on the very corner. It is outside of the silicone seam so there's no chance of water leakage and the part missing isn't touching silicone so my initial thoughts are it wouldn't affect the seam strength? The pictures don't show this well sadly but its the best pics I got

If it does is there anything I can do to fix without having to replace the whole tank?

I'm not going to tell you that it's safe to use but I ran a 120g tank with a similar chip in it (actually the chip was quite a bit bigger) for a few years with no issues.

Personally I would probably use this tank if I could set it up in a corner of the room where the chip is protected from further damage.

Itll be away from further potential damage so good on that count. Any benefit to siliconing both sides of it?

I would definitely use the tank after I check for cracks along the chip.

I dont think silicone will make any difference. As @Njbjr said, inspect it close for cracks, even the smallest crack can run and turn into a disaster

What you have to distinguish is:
Is it a chip or is it structural? A water test will help determine that. Its best to take tank to the garage in the event if leak ir separation and fill for 72 hours and see how it holds up
I know of a couple of people who took tank to glass repair shop and had chip repair done for $40 and in their 3rd ir More year of no leaks

hi ,from what i see is clam chip, not bad ,as others said look for runs/cracks,also have you used this tank before? i think i see a reseal job done over original seal?? vetteguy said best, set up level and fill test if no hurry..ha ha..give it a week :)
