Chirping fish?!

Made me go look for videos and found this,
That was amazing! Thanks for posting it. We need to go back to using just canoes (send all those ocean shipments in a canoe, I don't mind waiting another year for stuff). ;-) I feel sorry for creatures living near a pile driving machine. Hopefully those don't run 24 hrs/day!

My PJ and bengali cardinals make a bunch of racket. It's so loud you can hear them from across the room. The PJ's make a higher pitch sound almost like rapidly rubbing your thumb back and forth on a wood desk a couple times multiple times a day. The bengali will make a deep popping sound 2-3 times when the lights are almost out. Took me a long time to identify who was making what sounds..

Just to update, I finally figured it out - almost.
The sound is my kole tang.
It happens when it is eating/sucking stuff from the overflow weir.
Not sure exactly how the sound is created, as the weir itself does not make the sound when touched/wiggled.

how did you find that out
After cleaning the glass today, the sound started to become a bit frequent.
Spend a few hours on the couch right next to the tank. I noticed the tang in that area everytime I heard the sound.
I kept my eyes on the tang for a while and sure enough, the sound is there everytime it sucks on the weir.
