Hello friends and fellow reefers! I hope that you are all having an alright day so far! :)

I spotted a small critter crawling around on a bag of carbon that I dropped in my tank this morning after a water change. I'm uncertain as to what it is exactly and whether or not I should remove it.

I enhanced the sharpness of the photo to try and make it clearer because it was pretty tough to get my phone to focus through the reflection on the glass. The critter is a little smaller than 1 centimeter.

Thanks in advance! :)

Thanks, I'm still scratching my head over it hehe. I thought it might be chiton from far away, but the closer I looked the less it looked like one to me. I'll go look up pictures of spider crabs to see if there are similarities. :)

Large isopod. One of this size best removed from tank and discarded as they will attach to a fish and behave like a tick

Yikes!! And out it goes! I'm going to run over to my tank with some tweezers and yank it off my carbon bag. Thank you so much!
