3 years in and I still have 3-5 large chitons that hitchhiked in roaming my tank. There are small ones around as well but these seem to be really slow growers. They are awesome at keeping the glass below the sand clean.

Nice...and it still has some growing to do. The first chitons I ever saw were down in the Keys. They were about 3 inches long.
 
Just perusing your threads for a build thread after you posted those great shrooms...

I saw a big one of these in my tank a few months back now I know what they are! He was on rockwork in between the montipora shelving and seemed to be “behaving“ so I left him alone.

So totally harmless then?
 
Will chitons eat acropora / any danger? My tank is suddenly full of tiny ones... worried about sps corals. Thanks! While I have enjoyed my coralline for years, I think it’s going to be all taken out.
