So what effects do Chloramines have on coral? What are some of the symptoms that chloramines might be present in the system in regards to coral?

I see a ton of information on the effects of chloramines on fish, but very little on coral.

It shouldn’t be present in fish/reef tanks at all.
It’ll end up killing them

Yeah I know that. I am look for symptoms that the corals are being exposed to them.

It will cause tissue necrosis. Depending on the amount of chloramines, it can be rapid or slow.
This is correct. In fimbriaphyllia, specifically, I have seen a high amount erode tissue faster than typical STN/RTN. Chemical disturbance is never easy on coral and this is no exception.

This is an old thread, but I've never seen data on what happens to corals from chloramine, and to be honest, I'm not sure the amount from top off would ever be high enough to be problematic, although in a significant water change it could be.

That said, i certainly do not recommend intentionally using water with significant chloramine in it.

Anecdotally, I believe I solved a chronic STN/RTN issue with my SPS that started when I moved them from a tank in one water district to another that uses more chloramine by adding a large Pentek ChlorPlus carbon block filter to my RO/DI system. I was at my wits end before making that change. At the first sign of STN now, the first thing I check is when I last changed the carbon block.
