Went swimming with kids today. Was out the water for about an hr when I got home. Got home and got distracted with the kids and did some tank maintenance before taking a shower while I was waiting on my son to wash the dog. I was elbows deep in the sump for a few minutes before I remembered I had not taken shower to wash off the chlorine. My system is about 350 gal including sump. Should I be concerned? If so what should I do?

Don’t think a little chlorine residue on your arm is going to cause any issues on a 350 gal sys.. if you where using sunscreen that could be problematic.

Chlorine on the skin can be an issue. Depending on the type and amount. Some pools have algicide /algaecide (tomato /tomotoe) in them. I doubt the amount you introduced into your tank was enough to cause any major harm. If you are running carbon that will help.

Chlorine no....not in .01ppm traces that your arm would leach

I'd be more concerned with SPF sunblock lotion that's been known to shrivel corals if your arm is coated....even a .0001ppm of sunblock can do wicked things to corals

Luckily we forgot the sunscreen. And I do run carbon. So hopefully I will have no issues. I’ll just add this to the list of dumb things I’ve done to my aquarium.

Thanks

I agree with everyone here. However for peace of mine you could always use some seachem prime to help.

Not a bad idea. I have some too.
