Raccoon butterfly did nothing for me. He nipped at them but never ate the while anemone. I had 6-8 different aptasia filefish that did not look at them. Majano wand just couldn’t keep up with them.
Wow! That sucks. I had the opposite experience. Cleaned out the whole tank in a week. Majanos, aptasia, hydroids. It is crazy you have to go through all this effort. Recycling your tank is going to be painful. Then have no guarantee that this will be the last of them (importing new ones).
Keep us updated.

I want everything to be 100% dead. The past 5-6 weeks of emptying the tank is something I do not want to do again because a single majano of the thousands I had lived. It is cheaper than buying several gallons liquid bleach. People use bleach to clean their rock all their rock all the time with no affects. I plan on scrubbing everything down and refilling with freshwater and dechlorinator at least 2 times.
I might have gone a different route….

If you want everything dead and don’t want to worry about “decontamination” later, heck just use hot water … I’ve done this before: You can fill a tank with hot tap at maybe 110F if you are careful it shouldn’t damage silicone seals or crack the glass, et… Anything that survives the heat and the “bends” deserves to live, IMHO… Again, 110F not 140F …use common sense: check the settings on your hot water heater, or mix with cold, don’t fill too fast et et et

Also plain text often comes off as rude but sincerely a gallon of bleach will decontaminate Lake Michigan almost your savings here is akin to driving 20 miles to get Soda bottle refunds……

I could post pics and pics of my Aptasia infested tanks, now I have 4 tanks and haven’t seen a aptaisia in over 1yr, I’m sure one might show up eventually but persistence and a syringe filled with your favorite poison does eventually work … Peppermint shrimp are hit and miss but cheap enough and worth it….
