@Humblefish, I was reading another thread about a suspected bacterial infection on a copper band and you suggested this source for a different med. I was looking through their site and noticed they sell CP. Any idea/info on the quality or purity of this product?

I'm unfamiliar with where they source their CP from.

IMHO; nothing makes me feel more at ease than using CP from a US/Canadian/European compounding pharmacy, because I know their product is meant for human consumption. Nobody is gonna dilute that due to the legal consequences.

Below is a price quote from someone in the Diamondback thread. It looks like NFP is selling it for $45.00 for 25 grams. So, Diamondback is actually cheaper per gram. But you'll need to get a Vet Rx to buy from them.

Then i happened to notice the update above about diamond back drugs and they quoted $34.88 for 30 grams.

So if I remember the dosage correctly its 40mg(prophylactic treatment) per 1 us gallon. So for 29 gallons I would be dosing 1160mg. The above 30 grams for $34.88 would yield 30,000mg/1160mg would give me 25.86 treatments? That's a pretty darn good deal I must say!

IME; you can safely crank it up to 60mg/gal if necessary. You shouldn't notice appetite suppression and other side effects unless you dose 80mg/gal.

Only that other non formulary sources don't offer 99% pure CP, which has been shown to not be as effective. According to what I've read from threads here. @Humblefish can verify this.

It mainly has to do with the purity, which needs to be at least 99% in order to be truly effective. Pharmacies test for purity because the CP they sell is meant for human consumption. Diamondback has also assured me they are testing for purity before selling. Many online sources that sell without requiring a Rx are obtaining their CP from China, which has a dubious QC track record IMHO.

Exactly. And there's no easy/inexpensive way to test for Chloroquine in the water, so accurately dosing 99% pure CP is critical to the success of the drug.

Just as an FYI, i picked up 30 grams of CP from diamondback and it was less than $40 including snail mail shipping. The CP arrived in 3 days to Philadelphia. My vet called in the script, diamonback contact me later that day for payment / shipping and the order was placed very easily.
Also to point out, the NFP site has an incorrect unit of measurement. They are stating that 25 Grams - $45.00 per gram. This oversight, very high pricing and basic website would make me leery from ordering this product from them.
