Chloroquine phosphate

I think humblefish said that carbon and the poly filter he posted will take it out. I never used cp I can not get the real deal.

Carbon should remove CP just fine. I also wouldn't suggest copper for your wrasses. Most of them will do fine with CP, any others you can run TTM for.

Well but say if i have no choice but to run copper, than can i dose it in the same tank after removing cp (25%wc and carbon)? Or i make a seperate tank? My plan is to never keep the tank empty.. TTM would need 2 tanks right?

First off, I want to thank @DrCooper - a vet & R2R member who put me in touch with this place.

Thanks to him, we now have access to a leading National Veterinary Compounding Pharmacy to supply CP for R2R members: http://www.diamondbackdrugs.com/

This is how it works:
  1. You will still need to obtain a Rx from your local vet! However, knowing that a place who supplies medications for veterinary hospitals, zoos, public aquariums, etc. carries CP should alleviate the concerns of many local vets. :)
  2. Have your vet contact Diamondback Drugs with the Rx, and they will arrange payment and ship the CP directly to your door! That's it!
I have confirmed that Diamondback is sourcing their CP thru a Canadian wholesaler AND testing each & every batch before selling it. If its not 99.5% pure, it gets sent back to the wholesaler. :D They can provide a Certificate of Analysis to you or your vet.

Yes, this explains how to do TTM: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/tank-transfer-method.192655/

And to answer your other question, running carbon removes CP from the water.
Yup, ttm wont work on fishes that are extremely infected.. thats the reason i asked for copper. I mean if fishes like wrasse gets brook/velvet, ttm wont work. So if the cp is removed from water via carbon, and then add copper.. basically, im plannin to run qt 24/7 with a molly or cheap hardy fish, so i dont have to feed bacteria every time or set it up everytime, incase of emergency.

TTM only works on ich, no other diseases. I know some who remedy this by performing at least one formalin bath in-between transfers, to prophylactically address velvet & brook. However, (a) I'm not sure if one formalin bath is sufficient to eradicate velvet/brook (b) I don't like handling formalin (a known carcinogen) let alone use it to treat my fish. Formalin has its uses, but I consider it to be a "last line of defense" chemical.

Are there standard quantities to request?

A R2R member who recently bought from them got 30 grams. 1 gram of CP treats 25 gallons of water, so it really comes down to how large your QT is. CP also has a shelf life of 3 years.

Anyone use CP with a Fowleri tang before? Just got one today and went straight into CP. Is hiding but I haven't tried to feed yet. Not sure if it's hiding since it just came today or if it's from the CP.

Never a Fowleri, but I've used CP on tons of other Acanthurus Tangs without issue.

Keeping fingers crossed...

I pre dosed cp before introducing the fish.. can that be an issue or thts fine? As @Humblefish suggested to observe wether the fish is eating or no, then add. Did i make a mistake? However the fish was with the lfs since a week n a half and were eating hikari marine S.

I think it will be ok if they were already eating at the LFS. Just make sure they keep eating and react accordingly.

Ok.. this might sound stupid, but do these gobies survive without food for 10days? Coz when i bought, the lfs fed them, some were eating and some were not.. but there were too many, so cudnt see which were and which were not eating.. i jus bot the biggest fish in the tank. Tummy looked normal when i bought.
