to note i did put a naso tang in there with him 2 days ago and he has a fairy wrasse and lyretail anthias in there with him as well

So I just did a 5 minute fw bath to rule out flukes I'm not sure if what's at the bottom is flukes or not

Yep, those are flukes. Treating the flukes with Prazipro is the easy path. Sometimes the "worms" cause those infections in the eye. I'd get Erythromycin for follow up to the Prazi treatment if needed. Good high quality food + vitamins (Beta Glucan is preferred) + clean water conditions and low stress will help the fish's immune system.

Erythromycin is "the" go to med for eye infections. I just looked and Chewy.com has it in stock. If you are building a fish med kit to have on hand, they also have Ciprofloxacin which is a fantastic antibiotic for use in "bath" treatments. Highly recommend it as you don't need a QT, just treat in a 60 minute bath. Can also use it to treat nems with bacterial infections. ;)

thanks just ordered some off chewy

I moved the fish to a seperate QT its 10G kinda small for him but i dont have anything else i can put him in and i want to treat him seperately from the other fish i posted about this fish in my local reef club and 2-3 members said i should treat him with copper for the eye should i treat him with copper as well? in all my reading i read nothing about copper being good for eye infections

Copper suppresses the fish's immune system and often through that suppressed immune system cloudy eye (bacterial infections) can arise. Especially if flukes, or other parasites are attacking the eyes.

Today I got the Erythromycin but his eye seems to be bleeding now I just administered the first dose not looking good now and more bad news my lyretail anthias died last night while in QT and my wrasse has this weird growth or infection on its back

they were all in the same tank with the naso tang I got the chocolate Tang lyretail anthias and fairy wrasse all from nyaquatics and the naso tang from a lfs 2 days later

another image of the bad eye now both eyes seem to be cloudy with the left one being the worst

should i dose the main QT with Erythromycin as well? the only two fish left in there are the naso and the wrasse but the naso is as healthy as a horse
the chocolate tang is in another QT at the moment being treated Erythromycin and prazi

The Chocolate Tang just died went in the garage to check on him and he was lying on his side could a bacterial infection kill that quick? and could it spread to other fish? he was in the same QT that the naso tang is now in for 2 days

Sorry for your loss :(

But yes, gram negative bacterial infections can kill rather quickly. But it's usually a secondary actor to some other primary cause like parasites, injury, stress, water quality issues, etc.

Erythromycin works really well on gram positive infections and the eyes in particular.

But most frequently saltwater fish have gram negative infections. Those are better addressed with NFG powder (esp. Tangs), Kanaplex, Furan2, Metro in a QT. Or in a bath with Ciprofloxacin.

Well this has just been a disaster that 1 batch of fish from nyaquatics all died in QT now my naso tang i look this morning has the same infection top of his head is ghost white and hes lying on his side 450 dollars of fish gone im so ticked right now what do i do moving forward do i sterilize the QT or leave it fishless 4-6 weeks?

So sorry for your losses. Been there. :(

I'd consider sterilizing the tank and any equipment used. Bleach, rinse, rinse, rinse, and then completely dry.

the naso tang is up now but doesnt look right i dosed the QT directly with ruby reef rally added a dose of metroplex and did 1/4th a dose of cupramine gonna try to break it up into 4 doses im not really sure if its bacterial or if it was velvet or what so i dunno what to treat him for im just trying everything i can think of that can be combined to save him
