Tank looks awesome!

I'm doing a 75g build right now... can you update us on your filtration & flow?

I'd love to know how you're keeping your system so clean & healthy

I'm happy to! I run a sump/refugium that has Miracle Mud and chaeto that's lit 24/7. I run a Bubble Magus NAC7 skimmer along with a BRS dual media reactor for GFO & carbon. A Mag Drive 9.5 gets the water back up top to the display and from there I have a Vortech MP40 and MP10 on opposite sides of the tank for flow. As far as the biological filtration, I have 50lbs of BRS Pukani rock in the display with only 1 small piece in the sump so the pods have something to run around on other than the chaeto.

Beautiful tank!!! Keep it up! Maybe do a build thread with lots of pictures :) that's what everyone loves!
Filtration sounds interesting. Haven't seen a lot of miracle mud tanks but yours is and looks great! What brand is the mud and any tips? What light is lighting it? Have a picture :) ?

I run Ecosystems miracle mud. I can say I saw a difference after adding the mud back in October, my SPS really began to show some serious polyp extension. As far as lighting the fuge, I use a cheap clamp on light with a 6500k CFL twist bulb.

Here's a shot of the mud. About 3".

Thanks for the Sump/Filtration Update!

I like your set-up alot, and will definitely use methods similar to yours!!!

Jeesh, with the Miracle Mud and Chaeto --- I bet your system is overflowing with pods

Another quick question - it looks like your original setup was with T-5 lighting, and now you're using LED's. Have you noticed any difference in SPS health & growth comparing the T-5's & LED's?

I haven't purchased the lighting yet, but am strongly leaning towards T-5's. I currently have EcoRay LED's over my 29g biocube... but haven't been too impressed with my coral's reaction.

I'd love to hear your thoughts & observations!

As you probably already know, you can burn things up pretty quick with LEDs. So far I like mine, they are the Ecoxotic 24" Panorama Pro fixtures with 2 extra strips added in each from the stock units. Do I notice a real difference in growth, nothing remarkable. I do enjoy the cleaner look however and I like the fact I don't have to replace bulbs any longer.

Thanks for the reply - great input. I guess I just need to figure out the financials - the Ecoxotic Panorama's are certainly sweet... but my wife might put the "heck no" on me if I try and get them! I'm lucky she's "allowing" me to get the Ecotech 40 for flow - that was quite a sell job on my part

Yep!! I understand!! I started accumulating stuff about 6 months prior to starting the build.
