Thanks, these more recent photos are shot with a Canon 5D Mark IV body and either a Canon 100mm 2.8L or Canon MPE 65.

That was honestly my first thought. 2K for body only is going to be a tough one to chew but I don't think I will be happy with anything else.

If you don't want to make that big of a financial commitment, the 5D Mark II and III are excellent bodies at a little bit of a better price point. A lot of my best photos were shot with the older Mark II.

I was looking at the Mark II. Not a bad price point, and save some room for a good lens or two.

Caught the Orange Spotted Filefish sleeping in the Gorgonian last night after lights out.

My matted file fish does this too. It tends to pick the Grube's gorg most often, but sometimes switches to one of my others. It is interesting how well they meld into the gorg. Mine bites onto the flesh of the gorg and sways with it. During the day I catch it sitting in the wake of the gorgs to rest.

Have you found any challenges with such a shallow display? I really like the appearance of the shallow lagoon and your amazing reef but am hesitant with the limited depth.

Have you found any challenges with such a shallow display? I really like the appearance of the shallow lagoon and your amazing reef but am hesitant with the limited depth.

The huge footprint makes a screen top pretty unfeasible, so I'm limited to fish that are less likely to jump. Aquascaping was a challenge; I had to use pretty small rocks as it doesn't take much to use the vertical space. 'Scaping overhangs, caves, and arches can take you up near the water surface pretty quickly.
